Walk-Through Research Examples

While we can recommend search strategies and resources, you should let the information you have as well as the information you discover, guide you through the research process. Don't be afraid to explore or to look beyond the boundaries of your original plan.

You should also consider information beyond that which exists online. These walk-through examples cannot capture the value of a telephone conversation or the essence of a lead that starts with a hunch and ends with solid information appearing only in a paper file. (Actual walk-through scenarios have been removed because the technology used to capture them no longer is available.)

DOWNLOAD: This section of the CIR teaching Web uses CatchTheWeb to illustrate the research process and information found at the time of the searching. Displaying these slides requires a tiny ActiveX download. Please allow it to proceed.
